The religion of Islam is a complete way of life that deals with religious, political, economic and social issues. Moreover, Islam did not only require them to worship only God and renounce all idols and things they worship. Rather, they prohibited consumption of interest, intoxication, fornication, gambling, and other things they thought they enjoyed. It also encouraged people to deal fairly and justly with each other, knowing that there is no difference other than piety. How can the Quraysh [the noblest tribe of the Arabs] endure being treated like slaves! Not only did they steadfastly refuse to accept Islam. Rather, they hurt him, accusing him of being insane, a sorcerer, and a liar. They accused him of something he dared not do before the arrival of Islam. They turned the ignorant populace against him, wounded him, and tortured his comrades. Abdullah b
Massoud, a close associate of the Prophet, said: "Will you take the dirt and filth and bloody entrails from someone's camel and wait for them to fall down and put it between your shoulders?" Agreeing, the Prophet (pbuh) prostrated himself and he placed the dirt between his shoulders so that the Prophet (pbuh) remained prostrate. They laughed so hard that they almost fell over each other. Someone went to a little girl named Fatima and told her what had happened. She hastily approached the Prophet (pbuh) and, after removing the dirt from his back, turned her around and cursed the Quraysh who were sitting in that session. (Bukhari #498)
Munib al-Azdi, Companion of the Prophet (pbuh) said:
I saw the messenger of God saying to people in times of ignorance: Allah, if you succeed . ”Some were spitting in his face, throwing dirt in his face, and cursing him until noon. He washed his face and hands and said: "Daughter, do not be afraid that your father will be humiliated or be poor." (Mu'jam al-Kabir # 805) Prophet (pbuh) ) was asked about some of the evil deeds done to the Prophet (pbuh) by the heathen, and he replied: Abu Bakr 13, robed around his neck, hastily approached, seized the crowd by the shoulders, pushed him away, and said: 'He has declared Allah his Lord, and from your Lord a clear sign will come to you. Since you came, will you kill people?” (Bukhari 3643)
These incidents stopped the Prophet Please refrain from calling on Islam. He preached this message to many tribes who came to Mecca for Hajj 14. Some of the people of Yathrib (a small town north of Mecca), now known as Madena, believed and promised to support and help him if he decided to migrate there. sent Mus'ab b. Umair to teach them the teachings of Islam. After all the hardships Meccan Muslims faced from their own people, God allowed them to emigrate to Medina
The people of Madena greeted them and received them in an extraordinary manner. Medina became the capital of the new Islamic State and the place where the call to Islam spread far and wide.
The Prophet (pbuh) settled there and taught the people how to recite the Qur'an and religious precepts. The people of Madena were very touched and moved by the attitude of the Prophet. They loved him more than themselves. They hastened to serve him, spending whatever he had in the path of Islam. Society was strong, people were religious and very happy. People loved each other and there was a real brotherhood among them. All were equal. Rich, noble and poor, black and white, Arab and non-Arab - they were all considered equal in the religion of God, with no distinction other than piety. After learning that, the Quraysh fought him at the Battle of Badr, the first battle in Islam. This battle was fought between two groups of unequal preparation and weaponry. The number of Muslims was 314. The Gentiles were 1000 strong. God gave victory to the Prophet (pbuh) and his companions. After this battle, a series of battles broke out between Muslims and Gentiles. Eight years later, the Prophet (pbuh) was able to raise his 10,000-man army. They went to Mecca and conquered it. Muhammad (pbuh) thereby overcame those who hurt and tortured him and his companions with all possible cruelty.
They had to flee for their lives, leaving behind their possessions and even their wealth. This year of decisive victory is called the "Year of Conquest" and praise your Lord and beg his forgiveness. [110:1-3]
After the conquest the Prophet (pbuh) gathered the people of Mecca and said to them:
"What do you think I will do to you?" You are a kind and generous brother and a kind and generous nephew!” The Prophet (pbuh) said: "Go - you are free." (Baihaqi #18055)
This amazing act of forgiveness led many to accept Islam. After that, the Prophet (pbuh) returned to Madena. After some time, the Prophet (pbuh) was going to perform the Hajj, so he left for Mecca with 114,000 Companions to perform the Hajj. This pilgrimage is known as "Hajjatul-Wadaa" or "Farewell Pilgrimage". This is because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) never made another pilgrimage and died shortly thereafter.
